I am not sure where the President learned math, but his fiscal policies do not add up, literally. He gave a $1.4 trillion tax cut (over 10 years) primarily to the rich. He has spent like there is no tomorrow (i.e. you never have to pay your debts) driving the deficit to $1 trillion. Now he has suddenly chosen to tighten spending by denying federal workers a 2.1% pay raise to save $25 billion (a one time savings). It is spit in the bucket and will not make a meaningful dent in the deficit but suddenly spending matters.
